Dryskin Gallery |
I love working with this fabric! It
can be purchased retail from Textile
Outfitters, Quest Outfitters
or Shelby
Kaava. Yes, this is the real deal Schoeller Dryskin and Dryskin
Extreme. I know you've looked at the amazing new soft shell items
out there and lusted after one for yourself.
The fabric is amazingly easy to work with. It's very forgiving
and very rewarding. Use simple patterns sized for moderate stretch,
like any pattern for fleece. You can sew seams with a straight stitch,
or serge them and topstitch.
My cycle clothing is here:

This two piece outfit is perfect for spring
skiing (or hiking or whatever) set made of Schoeller Dryskin.
If you haven't tried this new technical fabric, you really
should. It is wicking and has 4 way stretch, windproof,
abrasion resistant and water repellent.
The jacket is based on Kwik Sew 2615 with
a few additions, namely a microfleece lined collar. The
pants are based (barely) on stretch fleece pant. The pants
have a fly, flat front/elastic back waist, articulated knees,
and a shock cord hem closure to snug up around boots.

Dryskin pants for my hubby. Again, I used a stretch fleece
pants for a base. I added a Gramicci style waistband that
is a casing, articulated knees, zipper pocket and shock
cord hem. |

This dryskin pullover was made for a ski pal of ours. I
used Kwik Sew #2439 and only made a few changes. The collar
is lined with microfleece, and I added a pocket. Hems are
finished with double needle topstiching. |

Collar detail: zipper is bound with grosgrain tape, weather
flap and collar are lined with microfleeece |
